cities are going in right now…..

I’m just motherfucking baffled by the amount of banging shit on the underground right now. I’m equally stoked on hip-hop going back to the streets and not the ballroom. There seems to be a resurgence of raw raps over all sorts of beats, versus okay raps over bunk shit. While everyone is racing to name the next new sub-genre that was created by the 6 new dudes of this 5 year span, real rappers and their fans are pulling out their shoeboxes full of tapes and encoding the bitches in hopes of preserving the future for the young before it loses it’s mojo. Kind of like the dude above. I wonder if that 6 he is throwing up is for Satan, hmmmm?

Anyway, I wrote about Ras Kass’s strike upon babylon and today I’m building on some other stuff to hit the HD as of late. The homie Nasa just drafted a new rapper who goes by the name of Adam Warlock. They just crafted a nutso banger that can’t even be filed under anything BUT “prog-rap” in this context! That’s cool, he made that up like I made up crev-wave.

Coming up next courtesy of the 805 area code, Oxnard and Bandcamp (the new frontier of underground hip-hop and ghost analytics) is the homies Epsilon Project. Their crew is pretty deep and they use Bandcamp like it’s their personal radio station. These dudes have enough catalog and talent to pick up where Kali Wild left off and then some. Madlib’s dad DJ Babu and PB Wolf were the reason as to why you heard that last run of music and it’s going to be a mystery to see who brings it to you in physical format this time around….

I’m going to share whatever new “urban music” I come across on the net, with a concentration on Bandcamp material because it comes in a higher quality than normal and you can just bump the music if you don’t want to buy/download it…..
