these are opening screen shots that I came across for sale on some site and immediately were on the dick of. so much so, that I stole them and put my favorites here. I’m all about type placement and layouts and stuff like that, so I like to see how much people can do with very little extras. all the dudes who designed that stuff had a movie screen for a canvas and a few frames of space at the beginning and the end of the movie to show their stuff. it’s also interesting to see when technicolor was first used (in comparison to the other shots that were way stark and primarily, if not exclusively monochromatic) and the weird kind of effect it has with the washed out backdrops of the wild west. almost like some ultra vivid color type shit, like when you see red over black and white or when you look at the purple rain album cover for too long…..
