(and the award for best scene in a old ass comic goes to..)
Johnathan Hickman has been quietly responsible for some of Marvel Comics best and most surprising content over the past couple of years. This year alone he reinvented the history of S.H.I.E.L.D. and repurposed Tony Stark and Reed Richards’s fathers, he turned Nick Fury into basically the God of Spycraft and he made the Fantastic Four a can’t miss comic. The last dude to really rewrite history like this was Grant Morrison with his New X-Men run and that storyline STILL comes back to haunt everyone. Thank you for making comics worth their cover price. Content is key.

“I miss the snow, rain and hiding out indoors. I miss trains that run all day and night with the exception of 2 hours. I miss being able to ride a bike everywhere, even though I didn’t have one and I miss my skateboard. I miss hotel rooms and having too many shirts with nowhere to wear them. I miss my life in europe.”

now they fucked up Bionic Six for me. damn.

and I had all of these toys too. this was my favorite cartoon when it came out and the cast iron action figures with the strange lights were the light fantastic that you would trip on. IQ was naturally who I related to and imagine my black pride infused surprise wen I read about him in 2011 and see that he was the Vitruvian Man of the clique. so why did he get the powers of a supercharged Bo Jackson and be stuck doing doubles with the robot ape? here’s a lil’ footy from back in the day and I guess I have one more thing to add to my Ebay list….

HELLFYRE CLUB “Veneris Nigrum” FREE D/L:

Hi.

We dropped a compilation today (Black Friday) on Twitter entitled “Veneris Nigrum” which translates from Latin to Black Friday. The compilation features our 2012 roster thus far: Nocando, Open Mike Eagle, KAIL, E.Super, Rheteric Ramirez, Subtitle, VerBS, Sahtyre and Pistol McFly.
This compilation is about the past, present and future. We have music that has been released (“Garbage” on Bong Rips and BARS, “Enlightenment” on The Buddah, “Nightmares” though this remix is new). We have music that is just for now and some that will be on future projects. With all of the retailers and merchants seeking money from the masses, we wanted to present a free offering to all who supported us before Black Friday and those who will support us afterward.
Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions/needs. Any support in spreading this compilation is greatly appreciated by us.
Thank you for your support these past two years,

I think digital could be a useful tool, but I’m increasingly concerned for friends in retail that they’re going to get shafted here. I really think day and date release is a disastrous idea and makes no economic sense at all to comics as a business. It’s potentially ruinous for comic stores, and in the long term it’s not going to do publishers any favors either. I see the attraction on a very superficial level. They think they’re cutting out the middle men and all the guys taking a piece of their gross, but there’s an equivalent number of hidden costs in digital too, and it’s short term thinking to obliterate the life-blood of the medium. Retailers are as big a part of comics now as the characters or the creators. They’re not just an outlet. These are carefully crafted communities and owned and staffed by people with a genuine passion for what they’re doing in a way that the ‘Amazon Also Recommends’ box isn’t quite going to match. I’ve got an awful lot of friends on the retail side and so many of them are hanging on by their finger-nails right now. Even a five or ten percent dip could be enough to put huge numbers of comic stores out of business. I know two huge American retailers, like really famous stores, in this position, and once they’re gone these guys are gone forever. Retailers stuck with us through the ’70s collapse and the ’90s post-speculator boom. Shouldn’t we be showing them a little loyalty now? Everything from the chair I’m sitting in to the keyboard I’m typing on has been paid for by royalties that retailers have made me, so I feel quite passionately about this.

weed is cool now, maybe if he starts showing skateboarders in his vids people will think he is even cooler. SKATE/RAP/WEED perfect formula to get the hipsters on ‘board’ if you get me, get them ‘hip hoppin’ if you get me, get them ’smokin weed’ if you get me.
a dude left this comment from this blog I wrote. funniest shit ever.
I’m glad literally 5 of the homies made it onto this list but otherwise, this is for the motherfucking faggots. not some homosexual downtalking shit, for the faggots. half of these dudes are on major labels, that defeats the whole purpose of even saying the word underground. some of these dudes don’t even classify themselves as makers of hip-hop in the first place, and this is how the genre gets even further fucked up. this is that version of underground that is mainstream underground, not underground mainstream.
